Forms for MWR Customers

The Department of the Army has instituted a tracking system for Morale, Welfare and Recreation to better serve our customers. If you and your family members desire to use any of our MWR facilities, please complete the following application forms. Form #1 provides information on your household and Form #2 provides details on what interests you and your family. Gathering this data allows us to offer programs and services that meet your needs and enhance well-being for the Total Army Family.

Upcoming Special Events and Programs

Mystery in the Library! *DATE CHANGE*
Due to the inclement weather on January 30th, this program has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 6th.
WHODUNNIT? Master Detective Sherlock Holmes needs your help to solve the mystery in the library! This event takes place on Saturday, February 6th from 5 pm-8pm for teens 13-18 years old. Space is limited; call 703-806-3323 to sign up today.

I <3 Valentine's Day
Attention Kids! Kids ages 6-12 can celebrate Valentine's Day at Van Noy Library on Saturday, February 13th from 2 pm-3 pm. We'll provide the materials - you supply the creativity as we enjoy crafts, stories and snacks. Please call 703-806-3323 to register.

"Dear John" at Van Noy Library

The latest in the Army MWR "Books to Movies" promotions is coming to Van Noy Library, January 11-February 14. Visit the library, check out a copy of Nicholas Sparks’ Dear John novel, and you’re on your way to winning some great prizes. Van Noy Teen Book Club
February's book selection is "Holes" by Louis Sachar. The book club will meet Saturday, February 20th from 4:45 pm-6:30 pm. Call 703-806-3323 for more information.


FIRST FLOOR

Children's Library
In the Children's Library (on the 1st floor), parents and children can can find books, participate in summer reading programs and activities, attend story-hours, use a computer together, or ask staff about great books to read.

Young Adult Collection
The YA collection has a new home near the circulation desk. It is continuously growing with fiction, non-fiction and reference books. You will also find audio books and some graphic novels.

Audio/Visual Collections
DVD’s:  adventure, classics, foreign language, documentaries, instructional, children’s, performance and award winning films. You’ll find it all here.

Audio Books, or “talking books”, of current fiction, classics, non-fiction and biographies are available.

Books!
Circulating fiction and non-fiction books are on the 1st floor.  We are currently in process of updating the collection to be able to offer you the latest and greatest.

SECOND FLOOR

Career Center
Books on how to write resumes, prepare for interviews, change careers, and locate jobs are available on the 2nd floor as well as workstations with MS Word for writing resumes and Internet access for searching for job opportunities.

Education Center

Reference books about choosing a college and information about financial aid are available. There are also circulating Exam books for study purposes (SAT, GRE, ASVAB, etc.).

Reference Department
Non-circulating reference books on a variety of subjects are available for research. Online databases are available here on this webpage, look on the right side of the page. A Reference Librarian is on hand to assist with research projects, and to help locate needed information.

Periodicals
Magazines, newspapers, Consumer Reports, used car price guides, and related materials may not be checked out but are available for leisure reading or research.

Military History
A collection of circulating books, biographies, and non-circulating reference materials on military history are in the Military History Room.


Our friendly, knowledgeable staff is waiting to serve you. Come over and browse through our collection. You'll agree that there's something for everyone at Van Noy Library. If you cannot find what you need, please tell us.

You can be a patron...

If you are:

  • Military stationed at Fort Belvoir (including TDY) and your family.
  • Members of armed forces and their families residing in the area.
  • Retired military and their families living in the area.
  • DoD civilians working/living in the area.

Present the appropriate ID, register, and you can begin borrowing immediately.
