Fishing License requirements for Fort Belvoir:
Ages 16 and above only require a Virginia State fishing license and a Freshwater license. Licenses are available at all local Wal-marts.
Fishing Information from Outdoor Recreation
Outdoor Recreation is now renting fishing poles and has fresh
water poles, cane poles, children's poles, saltwater poles
and has a large variety to suit all needs. Reels are zybco
and spin cast. Freshwater rod/reel prices: (day) $4, (weekend)
$6, (week) $20, Saltwater rod/reel price (day) $5 (weekend)

Fishing Clinic
Free Fishing Days in Virginia 6-8 June! No fishing license of
any kind is required for rod and reel fishing in freshwater.
ENRD/DPW and DFMWR/ODR are sponsoring a Fishing Clinic on Sunday,

Fish & Bird Story Telling
Richard Freeman, Fort Belvoir's Van Noy Children's Librarian,
will tell a story about the Accotink Bay Wildlife Refuge Bird
Habitats on Saturday, 14 June and Fish Habitats on Saturday,
12 July at the Environmental Education Center (Picnic Area),
Bldg. 780, at 10am. Admission is free and families are welcome.

The
Fort Belvoir MWR Archery and Hunting Programs have been cited
as model programs and received attention in both local and national
hunting publications.
These facilities
represent the most complete archery complex in Virginia and possibly
anywhere. All facilities are in top condition and are rated a
"Four Star Facility by The National Field Archery Association
and The Virginia Bowhunters Association." These facilities
are maintained by MWR Range Volunteers. Youth, Adult and Scout
Archery Instruction is conducted by Certified NFAA Advanced Level
Instructors on these ranges, during specific periods. International
Bowhunter Education Program Classes are also conducted in the
Archery Center Classroom, by Certified IBEP Instructors in support
of the Fort Belvoir Bowhunting Program. Bowhunters interested
in deer and turkey hunting on the Post are required to have completed
a State Hunting Safety Course, an IBEP Course and to qualify by
demonstrating an archery proficiency test with broadhead arrows.
An annual qualification fee is charged to interested hunters and
remains active for participation during the Spring Gobbler season.
All appropriate Virginia licenses are also required.

Facility Features
The Fort Belvoir MWR Archery Center Operates with:
- One 14 Point Standard Outdoor NFAA Field Archery Course.
- One 25 Point Outdoor 3D Animal Target Range. Targets are placed
on this range for specific competitions.
- One eight Point Outdoor Lighted Practice Range with targets
at 10,15, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 yards.
- One four Point Outdoor Broadhead Practice Range with 20 and
30 yard lines and a 16 foot Practice Tower.
- One 18 Point NFAA Indoor 20 yd Practice Range with Block Targets
and an official time clock.
- One 10 Point Indoor 15 to 45 yard Practice Range which includes
a three point broadhead qualification and practice target.
- One three Point Interactive Range with a variety of realistic
computer driven hunting scenarios.
- An Official Virginia Check Station for Deer and Turkey Season.
