WHO
WE ARE
Your representatives of DoD civilians and Non-Appropriated
Fund, (NAF), employees assigned to commands/organizations
located at Fort Belvoir. Our minutes are prepared and submitted
to the Garrison Commander, Fort Belvoir, for review and approval.
WHERE
WE ARE
Basement of building 210, (DMWR), at Belvoir Road and 21st
Street, across from the post office.
(Charlene Andereson - 703-805-4126).
HOW
WE ARE APPOINTED
Each organization and tenant activity at Fort Belvoir may
have a primary and alternate member on the CEFC. While this
is not required, it is in the organization's best interest.
Your representative is your "eyes and ears" at the
CEFC and ensures you have a representative voice in all CEFC
business. Additionally, requests for TDA funds are submitted
by that representative, and they are responsible to the council
for accounting for those funds through sales receipts. Members
are traditionally volunteers from the organization, and must
be designated as Primary or Alternate in a memorandum to the
council.
WHAT
WE DO
Operating under AR215-7, we are established to support approved
morale, welfare, and recreational activities for civilian
employees.
*
Receive and account for operating funds provided by the Post
Restaurant Fund Council. This money comes from profits on
purchases at vending machines and cafeterias where a considerable
percentage of the personnel at the sales location are federal
civilian employees.
* Plan the CEFC fiscal year budget.
* Meet monthly at the CEFC building to conduct business related
to activities sponsored either solely by the CEFC or jointly
with other organizations.
* Our Trip Committee proposes trips and related events. From
the committee, a volunteer is requested to sponsor the proposed
trip/event and make recommendations to the Council. He or
she then follows up with coordination and costing, and presents
a proposal to the committee. Trips/events are limited to federal
civilian Fort Belvoir employees and one guest or immediate
family members, based on the nature of the event
* Our Publicity Committee works through the Eagle and other
media to reach the civilian population with news of the events.
Additionally, when plans are finalized, flyers are prepared
and distributed to your representatives.
* Host/co-host events such as health fairs and stress workshops
* Distribute TDA funds. Based on your organization's authorized
federal civilian employee strength, an amount per person is
allotted to help support holiday parties or other events.
This money must be requested through and accounted for by
your CEFC representative.
* Budget funds based on request for support from agencies
such as the Safety Center and EEO Council. This is separate
from TDA funds.
* Maintain a "loan closet" of equipment available
to organizations and personnel with a designated federal civilian
employee POC to receive and return such equipment. Included
are canopies, sports equipment, and coolers.
