The Handmade Gallery at the Kawamura Community Center (Arts and Crafts Center) offers handmade arts and crafts items for those looking for distinctive, high quality workmanship and design.  All artists represented are professionals, well known, and appear in national juried shows.  Some of the items selected to be initially carried include the following:

Shaker and wall clock, mantle clocks, desk clocks…all made from native hardwoods using walnut, cherry, sycamore, maple and oak.  The mechanical movements are from Germany and have a pleasing Bim – Bam chime.  Quartz movements come with a five-year guarantee.  Each clock is signed and dated.

Wind ornaments featuring articulating and moving parts.  They are sculptural additions to your setting.  There is constant movement in some designs and gentle rotating in others.  Overall size is between three and four feet.  Designed to be hung in air currents or winds to 15 mph.

Shaker carrier boxes and accessories…reproductions of Shaker boxes and furniture as well as custom shaker products…double hinged carriers, oval carriers, bureau trays and more.  Made in cherry, curly maple, and birdseye maple.

Studio Glass…handblown glass with a focus on candles for indoor and outdoor use.  Decorative and functional designs in rich colors and iridescent surfaces.

Rocking Horses: Traditional pine rocking horses are timeless in style and appeal.  Whether you style is contemporary, antique, country, or traditional, you will find something here.  Also have table and tow chair set for toddlers up to 6 years of age.

Floral Earthenware Pottery…Handmade using traditional techniques...handthrown, slab, and slipcasting in fine white earthenware.  These forms are altered, added to or cut away with hand formed flowers affixed.  The flowers are made of tinted clay; therefore the color is throughout the leaves and petals.  Several items offered such as bowls, vases, candleholders, and vanity pieces. Frames and accent pieces.  Must see to appreciate.
