FRAMING

 

Basic Framing Class – Learn the basic principles of cutting matboard, building a frame and preserving all those pieces of art youÕve been collecting.  With just four sessions you will be able to hang your first project.

 

Intermediate Framing Class – If you mastered double matting and want to enhance the overall appearance of your artwork, the intermediate framing class is your next step.  YouÕll learn how to stack, float artwork, cut reverse bevels, insert fillets, cut v-grooves and multi openings, insert title blocks and more.

 

STAINED GLASS

 

Beginning Stained Glass – Learn the basic techniques of stained glass:  cutting glass, grinding, wrapping and soldering.  Patterns, tools, supplies and glass are available in the Arts & Crafts Center.

 

Intermediate Stained Glass – In this 7-week course you will learn how to make a flat 6-paneled lampshade.  This will give you a chance to stretch yourself and hone your skills after making the panel in the Beginning Class.  The Beginning Class is needed prior to taking this class.  There are 6 patterns to choose from and supplies are available in the frame shop.

 

Advanced Stained Glass – Students will choose from a fireplace screen, a mirror with stained glass overlay or a clock.  This is a 7-week class with homework.  Some supplies may need to be ordered;  glass is available.  Intermediate and Beginning Stained Glass classes are required before taking this class.

 

JEWELRY CLASSES

 

Peyote Bracelet – Off-loom seed bead weaving with larger square beads to create a bracelet base, then embellished with smaller seed beads.

 

Brick Stitch Earring – Creating earrings is fun and easy once you master this stitch.  You can use it to create a variety of earring styles and effects.

 

Jewelry Basics – In this class learn the basics to get started in the wonderful world of beading:  beading on silk cord and Beadalon, as well as crimping and attaching clamshells for the clasps.  YouÕll go home wearing two beautiful bracelets.

 

Beginning Wire – This is the perfect place to begin your wire jewelry journey.  You will learn the closed circuit wire wrap technique to join beads, wire and chain to create a bracelet.  YouÕll take home an awesome pair of earrings handmade by you.

 

Earring Basics – Learn to connect dangles and form simple loops out of sterling silver wire.  Create different earring variations with semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals.

 

Spiral Weave Bracelet – Combine various colors to create this bracelet made from seed beads.

 

Snowflake Necklace – Combine beads and crystals to make this adorable pendant.

 

Old Fashioned Choker – Using seed beads and Czech glass beads create a stunning choker.

 

Chandelier Earrings – Using a chandelier hoop, learn to make wire and crystal dangles to hang from the hoop.  This fun and easy class will add another earring set to your collection.

 

Wire-Wrap Cuff – Combine crystals and beads with sterling silver wire to create an elegant cuff bracelet.

 

Floating Pearl Necklace – This is a quick make.  Float pearls using coated nylon wire and crimps.  You can substitute any kind of bead for the pearls.

 

Loop DÕLoop Necklace – This is a quick and easy stitch that is fun to experiment with and a great gift idea.  You can make this necklace so that the loops graduate in size or keep each loop the same size.

 

Victorian Choker – Once you get the hang of the stitch, you will make this choker in every color.  This can be very elegant or worn with jeans.

 

Wires and Washers Earrings – Household washers wrapped in wire and linked together to make attractive drop earrings.

 

Crystal Stick Earrings – Showcase beads by dangling them from wire.

 

Chunky Glass Bead Bracelet – Brightly colored glass beads strung in numbers and combined to produce a chunky, fun bracelet design.

 

AUTOMOTIVE SHOP (call the auto shop for more information – 703-806-4088) – Come on down to the auto shop where mechanics will assist you on various repairs that need to be done to your vehicle.  Why pay the money to have someone off base do your work when you can do it for less?  We have all the necessary tools and equipment to work on your vehicle.  Our mechanics can diagnose and help you repair most automotive problems, locate parts, etc.  Call the auto shop for details and information.
