The Fort Belvoir Veterinary Clinic is capable of providing comprehensive veterinary care for government-owned animals and for pets of active duty and retired military personnel and their dependents.

We offer a wide variety of veterinary services from our caring and knowledgeable staff, including: on-post pet registration, vaccinations, heartworm & fecal tests, micro-chipping, flea & tick preventatives, veterinary requirements for most PCS stations, preventive medicine & sick-call appointments, and outpatient anesthetic & surgical procedures (on a space available basis).

Patient care is kept state-of-the-art through continual equipment upgrades, professional veterinary training, and collaboration with the U.S. Army Public Health Command. Please call our Veterinary Center to arrange an appointment for these and other available services.

Microchips

All pet owners on Fort Belvoir are encouraged to get the microchip implant for their pets. This microchip stores your information which can be scanned by shelters if your lost pet is found. Call the Veterinary Center at 703-805-4336 to schedule an appointment for your pet.


Prescriptions

There is a 24 -hour call in requirement for refills on prescriptions issued by a Military, GS or NAF veterinarian. Written prescriptions from civilian veterinarians cannot be accepted or filled at our facilities. Anyone wanting to purchase Heartgard, Revolution or Interceptor will need to have been seen at the Ft. Belvoir VTF within the last year and also had a heart worm test done within the last year. If they did not receive the test at the Ft. Belvoir VTF, the owner must bring in proof from the other veterinary clinic.

Eligibility

Generally, pets belonging to active duty or retired military of all services and their family members are eligible. Reservists who are on active duty for over 30 days are eligible. In short, if your family can receive non emergency medical coverage at DeWitt Hospital, you can use our services.


Directions

Directions to Fort Belvoir Veterinary Center:

1. Enter Fort Belvoir from the back gate. (Tulley gate).

2. Turn Right at the first stop light, this will put you on Theote Rd. Stay on Theote Rd. to the fork
    in the road and stay right to the stop sign.

3. Go across Warren Rd. The Veterinary Center is across the road. Bldg 610 on Warren and Theote Rd.
