This is your one-stop rental facility for all your recreation needs . The outdoor equipment rental shop can supply you with gear for both winter and summer seasons. Winter Wine Tasting Trips

Each trip we will depart Belvoir at 8:30 am and should return approx. 5 PM. The cost is $20/person for transportation and pay as you go at the wineries. Please register in person M-F, 9-6 pm, at Outdoor Recreation, Bldg 778. Call 703-805-3081 with any questions.


Ski, Snowboard & Tubing Trip

Be the first to hit the slopes this year at Liberty Mountain, PA! Rent equipment from our shop, purchase lift tickets or just take us up on transportation. We depart ODR at 6 am to arrive at the slopes first thing at 8 am. If you rent with us, we load, unload your equipment and let you sleep on the drive! $15 per person for transportation.

Trailblazers: Hiking Interest Group

If you enjoying walking/hiking, join the ODR Trailblazers group. The group has accomplished day hikes in Northern Virginia and Maryland, including Shenandoah National Park, Harpers Ferry, Great Falls Park, Mason Neck, Huntley Meadows, Leesylvania State Park, and many more!  The level of hikes range from beginner to advanced and terrain can be either fields, hardwood forests, wetlands, beach or mountains. All places have spectacular views and abundance of wildlife. There is $10 fee per hike, to cover transportation costs. Join today by calling 703-805-1143.

RV Storage *NEW* Slots Open for Non-Active Duty

RV Storage Slots are NOW available for rent for retirees (military and civilian), as well as DoD civilians. Active duty military are still eligible to rent. Monthly or annual cost depends on military rank and RV length. Call 703-805-1226/3081 for further information.

Canoe and Kayak Rental

ODR is now renting their brand new canoes and kayaks!
Prices:
Single Kayak: $12 for half day, $14 daily, $ 40 Weekend Fri-Mon.
Tandem Kayak: $14 for half day, $28 daily, $44 Weekend Fri-Mon.
Canoe: $14 for half day, $28 daily, $44 Weekend Fri-Mon.
Prices include life preserver and car top carrier if needed. Also, Outdoor Recreation has a specific boat launching site on Tompkins Basin near the Outdoor Rec., building 778. For more information or to rent equipment, call 703-805-3081.

Fort Belvoir Dog Park

Dog Park Now Open
Fort Belvoir Outdoor Recreation’s dog park will be open full time from dawn to dusk, seven days a week and is free of charge! The enclosure is an 80 by 80 square foot fenced-in on-leash park, with a double gate to ensure dog safety. (NOTE: This is NOT the Woodlawn Dog Park located in the Woodlawn Village area.)

Boat Launching

Boat Launching at Tompkins Basin
Non-motorized boat launching is authorized at Tompkins Basin. See Boat Launch Map. Prior to launching, boaters must register at Outdoor Recreation, bldg. 778. Call 703-805-3081 for information.


Fishing Requirements

Fishing License requirements for Fort Belvoir:
Ages 16 and above only require a Virginia State fishing license and a Freshwater license. Licenses are available at all local Walmarts, the Fort Belvoir Home and Garden Center (13th and Middleton Rd) and on-line.


Outdoor Recreation Trailblazers

If you enjoying walking/hiking and want to walk with others we want you to join our ODR Trailblazers group. There are over 50 active participants and there is no fee to join. Since April 2008, we have accomplished day walks/hikes in NO VA and Maryland such as the Shenandoah National Park, Harpers Ferry, Great Falls Park, Mason Neck, Huntley Meadows, Leesylvania State Park, and many more!  Almost all places we go are suggested by the participants so you may know of places we haven’t tried. The level of walks/hikes range from beginner to advanced and terrain can be either fields, hardwood forests, wetlands, beach, or mountains.
